 William T. Birch
A day that will never be forgotten by the members of the Fort Lee Police Department. That day William T. Birch made the ultimate sacrifice... His life in performing his duties for the citizens of Fort Lee. William T. Birch was gunned down and murdered by a man who was in the process of robbing one of our local hotels.
William T. Birch's life was not in vain. Since that day our police department has made strides in preventing such a tragedy from ever occurring again. Yes there have been some close calls, but through our response from this needless murder no other member has had to pay the ultimate price.
September 4, 1966 a day never to be forgotten by the members of the Fort Lee Police Department, we salute William T. Birch and his family.

Kevin Greener
It's with deepest regret that the Fort Lee Police Department has to say good bye to a departed brother. Officer Greener #188, assigned to the Emergency Services Unit, succumbed on Monday August 9, 1999 to injuries received in a motor vehicle accident while on duty that day. Officer Greener was one of the most well liked officers on the job. He was respected by his peers and the community for which he served.
Formerly a Detective Sergeant for the Essex County Police Department. He was a 17 year police veteran who was also an instructor assisting with the training of the department's personnel. Officer Greener is survived by his wife and two children.
